Principals

Joseph F. Coan and James T. Scoggin are the Principals of Great Lakes Employee Benefit Services, Inc.

 Joe Coan has been in the employee benefit business since  1978. From 1978 to 1982, he worked for the UNUM Insurance  Company, initially as a Group Insurance Sales Representative  and from 1983 to 1990 as UNUM's Michigan Branch Manager.  From 1990 to 1991, he worked for the ABOW Companies and  from 1992 to 1997, he worked for Gallagher ABOW as a          Senior Benefits Consultant.  He received his CEBS designation    in 1987. Joe is a founding Principal of Great Lakes Employee      Benefit Services. 

 Jim Scoggin has been in the employee benefit business since  1981. From 1981 to 1985, he worked for the UNUM Insurance  Company as a Group Insurance Sales Representative. From  1985 to 1990, he worked for the ABOW Companies as a Group  Account Executive. He became a Principal with ABOW in 1991.  From 1992 through 1997 he worked as a Senior Benefits  Consultant with Gallagher ABOW. Jim is a founding Principal of  Great Lakes Employee Benefits Services.
