Employee Benefit Plan Management

Great Lakes Employee Benefit Services (GLEBS) provides traditional employee benefit brokerage and consulting services for our clients, including:

Assessments of clients’ marketing needs and objectives for the upcoming plan year. GLEBS meets with our clients to discuss budgets, changes, concerns, needs and objectives for their health and welfare benefit plans. We continue to meet with our clients throughout the year and provide ongoing plan management services.

Vendor analysis (Marketing / RFPs). GLEBS markets our clients’ employee benefit plans according to the objectives set for the upcoming plan year. We analyze proposals and correspond with vendors as we determine and agree upon the right plans for the client at the right prices.

Plan design consulting services. GLEBS works with vendors and assists our clients in establishing suitable plan designs for their workforce.

Financial analysis. GLEBS reviews historical costs and projects future costs, as well as conducts in-depth analyses of claims (retrospective and prospective claims costs). GLEBS produces facsimile rates and assesses the validity of administration fees and reinsurance premiums.  In addition, we quantify the value of plan design changes in claims cost.

Managed care network evaluation services. GLEBS assesses various managed care networks and determines the best fit for the client.

Benchmarking. GLEBS uses survey data to illustrate and compare an individual client's employee benefit plan data to national, regional, industry and demographic data.

Renewal negotiations. GLEBS manages plan renewals, coverage transfers and new plan implementation.

Communication services. GLEBS produces open enrollment communication materials and conducts employee meetings, in addition to providing communication support throughout the year.

Administrative support services. GLEBS assists clients with claim and billing problems as well as other service issues that arise.

Regulatory compliance services. GLEBS maintains relationships with business partners and outsource vendors to stay current on regulatory compliance and provide guidance to clients regarding adherence to laws and regulations.
